York Maze are offering all scare actors the option to be engaged as self-employed. This means you would submit an invoice to York Maze at the end of Hallowscream for the shifts you have worked and be paid without any deductions. If you are self-employed, you are responsible for paying your own Tax and National Insurance as appropriate, though you can earn up to £1000 tax free in addition to any regular job taxed under PAYE you may have. Working as a self-employed scare actor is totally optional, you can opt to be an employee and paid under PAYE.
